2020 is when it all started. Abby gave online dating another try and matched with a guy named Jesus. They chatted for a while and discovered she had interned with his sister — small world. Jesus asked for her Snapchat. After a bit, they stopped talking; neither of them could remember who messaged last.

Abby was at a kickback with friends and posted a Snapchat from the night. Not long after, Jesus — who she hadn’t heard from since their first 2020 match — slid into her DMs. Curious, she opened the message; they started talking again, and this time they never stopped.

Over the next few weeks, they moved their conversation from Snapchat to text, then to phone calls. Jesus asked Abby to go on a date. By the end of the date, Jesus asked Abby to be his girlfriend—and she said yes!
